Common diameters, angles and number of teeth for milling cutters

Milling cutters are used to perform milling operations and come in many different types and sizes depending on different processing needs.

Diameter: Common milling cutter diameters range from 1mm to 40mm.

Angle: Commonly used angles for angle milling cutters include 45°, 60° and 90° to create specific chamfers or bevels.

Number of teeth:

For rough machining, a milling cutter with a smaller number of teeth (such as 2–3 teeth) may be used.

For finishing, use a milling cutter with a larger number of teeth (such as more than 4 teeth) to obtain better surface roughness.
